
Awareness of challenges in the electoral system to 838 BLOs during weekly training of booth level officers
SAS Nagar, July 9: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, 838 booth level officers of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar are being trained under the leadership of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal on challenges in the electoral system, new technologies, increase in voter registration of the Election Commission of India, voter awareness and various mobile apps.
SAS Nagar, July 9: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, 838 booth level officers of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar are being trained under the leadership of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal on challenges in the electoral system, new technologies, increase in voter registration of the Election Commission of India, voter awareness and various mobile apps.
District Nodal Officer SWEEP Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal said that out of the three assembly constituencies of the district, training of Kharar is being given to BLOs of Rayat and Bahra University, Derabassi Sukhmani Group of College Derabassi and Mohali in batches of 50-50 every day from 4 to 11 July at School of Eminence 3B1 Mohali.
Today, District Nodal Officer, Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar, Election Lawyer Surinder Batra participated in the training at School of Eminence 3B1 Mohali. He said that the main purpose of the training is to make the booth level officers more technically literate so that the process of voter registration can be made more convenient for the common citizens.
With the coordination of SWEEP teams, Voter Awareness Groups and BLOs, the voter literacy campaign can be implemented smoothly and the voters can be made aware about the facilities provided by the Election Commission of India from time to time. Senior citizens, youth, migrant workers, women, differently-abled and transgender voters can be reached and registered.
After this training session, a written test of booth level officers is also being conducted and certificates are also being given to the BLOs who have successfully passed the test. Today's training was conducted by Master Trainer cum Land Protection Officer Anil Bana, Prof Khushpreet Singh, Prof Yadvinder Singh.
