Patiala, August 31 - Lahori Gate Police Station has arrested Granthi Sarbjot Singh on the charge of insulting the holy image of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji kept in a camp in street number 13 of the local Gurbakhsh Colony. Police registered an FIR under Section 299 late night and arrested the Granthi. On Friday night, a committee from Gurdwara Sri Dukh Nivaran Sahib Patiala reached the camp who brought all the holy images of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to Gurdwara Sri Dukh Nivaran Sahib with great respect.
Gurudwara Sahib Sant Kutia, Dera Sant Baba Pritam Ji Khalsa Patiala has been running for generations. It is alleged that the holy images of Sri Guru Granth Sahib were not being preserved in accordance with Guru norms in the said camp and there was also no adequate arrangement for cleanliness there. Due to which dirt spread in the camp. Late night, the Shiromani Committee team took action and registered an FIR against the head of the camp. Police took action and registered a case and arrested the Granthi.
