
Maternal Death Review Committee met to review maternal deaths
Hoshiarpur - To improve the services provided to pregnant women under maternal and child health services and the maternal mortality rate of women, a meeting of the Maternal Mortality Review Committee constituted to review the causes of maternal deaths in this month under the leadership of District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anita Kataria was held in the Civil Surgeon's office as per the directions of District Level Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar Damana. In which the concerned Senior Medical Officer, LHV, ANM and Internal Committee members participated.
Hoshiarpur - To improve the services provided to pregnant women under maternal and child health services and the maternal mortality rate of women, a meeting of the Maternal Mortality Review Committee constituted to review the causes of maternal deaths in this month under the leadership of District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anita Kataria was held in the Civil Surgeon's office as per the directions of District Level Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar Damana. In which the concerned Senior Medical Officer, LHV, ANM and Internal Committee members participated. During this, two deaths that occurred during this month in District Hoshiarpur were reviewed. Speaking on this occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anita Kataria said that after investigation of maternal deaths, it has come to light that the reason for both these deaths is multiple caesarean and migrant pregnant women with high-risk pregnancy. Women who keep changing their place after a short period of time due to their husband's work and are not able to get timely treatment due to ignorance. He said that a list of high-risk pregnant women should be prepared and their additional checkups should be done so that maternal mortality rate can be reduced by providing them timely health facilities. He asked senior medical officers and other field staff to take necessary measures to reduce maternal mortality rate. He said that early registration of every pregnant woman should be ensured. All her tests like weight, blood pressure, diabetes, HB, thyroid, hepatitis, scan, ECG and other necessary tests should be done on time so that any problem that persists can be detected and treated in time. On PMSMA day on 9th and 23rd of every month, necessary checkups and tests of pregnant women should be ensured by specialist doctors at health institutions.
