18 February Hoshiarpur- Interesting matches were held today on the fourth day of the 62nd All India Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament being organized at the sports ground of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur under the leadership of Kulwant Singh Sangha, President of Principal Harbhajan Singh Sporting Club Mahilpur.
During today's various matches, Tarsem Bha, Kulshinder Singh, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, Harnek Singh Bains, Sewak Singh Bains, Shivinderjit Singh RT SP, Daljit Singh Bains, Mahinder Bhatia, Tarlochan Singh and Rupinderjot Singh attended as chief guests and got introduced to the players. In the first Academy category (Under 18) match of the day, Football Academy Baddo defeated Football Academy Bajrawar by a margin of 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Armaan Nair in the 53rd minute of the match.
The second match of the club category was played between IFC Phagwara and Rajasthan United FC. IFC Phagwara player Harjot Singh scored the first and second goals of the match in the second and 19th minutes respectively, while in the second half of the match, Rajasthan United team players Tanmay Ghosh and Nathaniel Chilhang scored one goal each in the fourth and 57th minutes respectively and equalized the match.
After this, the match was declared a draw as no goal was scored till the stipulated time. In the third college category match, Khalsa College Garhshankar defeated GNC Phagwara by a margin of 3-0. In the first half of the match, Garhshankar College player Kamaldeep Singh scored two goals in the 32nd and 40th minutes. The third goal was scored by Gurveer Singh in the 78th minute. According to club president Kulwant Singh Sangha, tomorrow's matches will be between Khalsa College Mahilpur and Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, Football Academy Buddon and JCT Academy (Under-18), and RCF Club and Namdhari Club.
