A cricket tournament was organized by the villagers of Alachour

Nawanshahr - Sant Baba Khem Singh Sports Club Alachour organized the 8th cricket tournament in Mubarakpur village ground in the memory of late Balwinder Singh Kaka with the support of city residents and NRI heroes. A total of 31 teams participated in this tournament.

The teams from Mahindipur, Pelli, Jagatpur and Kot Ranjha reached the semi-finals, out of which the teams from village Mahindipur and Jagatpur played the final match and the team from Mahindipur won the first prize of 31000 thousand rupees. The second ranked team from Jagatpur won Rs.15000/ and trophies, the third and fourth ranked teams bagged Kot Ranjha and the teams from Pelli got cash prizes of Rs.3100/- and trophies.
On this occasion, social worker Shingara Singh, husband of Sarpanch Surjit Kaur, while distributing prizes, congratulated the youth and said that while sports give us health, they also protect us from many bad symptoms like drugs. On this occasion, where there was full support from the villagers, NRI heroes also supported.
Jaspreet Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Manpreet, Shingara Singh, Phumhan Singh, Singh, Karamjit Singh, Sukhdeep Singh, Paramjit Singh, Harman Singh, Manpreet Singh etc. were present on this occasion.
