
Essential services staff and accredited journalists will be able to vote from 23 to 25
Patiala, May 21 - District Election Officer Shaukat Ahmed Pare said that according to the list released by the Election Commission of India, votes of employees of various government departments engaged in essential services and accredited journalists, who have filled Form No. 12. Voting will be held on May 23, 24 and 25 at the postal voting centers set up at PRTC Head Office, Nabha Road.

Voting will be held on May 23, 24 and 25 at the postal voting centers set up at PRTC Head Office, Nabha Road.
The voting of these voters will be done at this Voter Facilitation Center from 9 am to 5 pm. Therefore, SDM Patiala has been appointed Assistant Returning Officer and necessary staff has also been deployed. He said that the purpose of this facility provided through postal ballot is to ensure that no person is deprived of voting due to his duty. The District Election Officer said that under the leadership of Nodal Officer Lok Sabha Elections-cum-Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Manisha Rana and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, employees of various departments and journalists filled their Form 12D and voted through postal ballot. But agreement was reached.
He said that after the release of postal ballot, these voters will not be able to cast their vote at their booth on June 1. He said that as per the notification issued by the Election Commission of India, media personnel doing media coverage during the elections including various departments are also required to vote through postal ballot under Section 60 (C) in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Permission of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 was granted.
