The District Election Officer said that a total of 4706 ballot units, 2353 control units and 2549 VVPATs have been allotted through randomization. He said that according to the 1963 polling stations of Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency, two ballot units, one control unit and one VVPAT machine have been provided at each polling station. He said that in the randomization of voting machines, 20 percent more ballot units, 20 percent control units and 30 percent more VVPAT reserves have been given to all assistant returning officers of Lok Sabha constituencies in addition to the number of polling stations in their assembly segments.
He said that 542 BAY, 271 CU and 293 VVPAT machines have been allotted to Sri Hargobindpur assembly constituency for 226 polling booths.
420 BU and 210 CU and 227 VVPAT machines for 175 polling booths to Bhulath,
544 BU, 272 CU and 295 VVPAT machines for 227 polling booths of Phagwara,
602 BU, 301 CU and 326 VVPAT machines for 251 polling booths in Mukerian,
536 BU, 268 CU and 291 VVPAT machines for 224 polling booths in Dasuha,
530 BU, 265 CU and 287 VVPAT machines for 221 polling booths of Urmur,
528 BU, 264 CU and 286 VVPAT machines for 220 polling booths in Sham Churasi,
492 BU, 246 CU and 266 VVPAT machines were allotted for 241 polling booths of Hoshiarpur.
After the second randomization of voting machines, the lists of polling station wise allotted machines and reserve machines were given to the representatives of Dasuha candidates/election agents.
The District Election Officer said that after the second randomization, under the leadership of Assistant Returning Officers, the engineers of BEL Company will commission (prepare) the voting machines on May 23 and 24.

Komal Mittal also informed the representatives of the political parties about the schedule of the Lok Sabha elections by the Election Commission of India.
