Prohibition of printing political advertisements in print media without prior approval on polling day and one day before

He said that the voting in Punjab is to be held on June 1, 2024 In this regard, before publishing any political advertisement in the newspaper of 31 May 2024 and 1 June 2024, it will be mandatory to get this advertisement approved by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC).
He also appealed to all political parties and media organizations to strictly follow these instructions. He said that no political advertisement in the electronic media and social media can be released even now without the approval of the media certification and monitoring committee. He said that regular instructions have been issued by the Election Commission in this regard. He said that for the pre-certification of advertisements published in print media on the election day or a day before, it will be mandatory for the candidate or party to apply to the MCMC at least two days in advance.
The district election officer also said that according to the instructions of the Election Commission, the MCMC committee is constantly monitoring the news of value. And if valuable news is printed by a candidate, then its cost will also be included in the candidate's election expenses. Therefore, print media, social media and electronic media are being continuously monitored.
