Hoshiarpur- The Mazdoor Party has accused the Accountant Incharge BDPO Sukhjinder Singh of Mahilpur BDPO office of taking additional charge and his colleagues of committing a scam of Rs 1 crore and the government's silence. The party president Jai Gopal Dhiman also attached copies of all the evidence of corruption in the information received under the Right to Information Act under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Secretary of Punjab and Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, Assistant Commissioner Shri Sanjeev Kumar ji.
He said that Secretary Panchayat Sandeep Kumar, Manager Vijay Kamwar and employees of e-Panchayat are still working on their respective seats, where they had committed the scam. Dhiman said that the current BDPO Shri Balwinder Pal ji has committed the scam by taking additional charge. The Punjab government is not ready to take any action against them and is talking about zero corruption and making a colorful Punjab.
Dhiman said that by not taking any action and delaying it, it is clear that the corrupt are being encouraged to tamper with the records. He said that in villages Kot Fatuhi, Hukumat Pur and Bahbal Pur, the Sachchar Committee is laying interlock tiles in the villages by taking personal responsibility and all this is being done forcibly. Dhiman said that when there will be an audit or investigation in these, it will be difficult to answer and the secretary himself is also creating evidence of corruption.
He said that till now he wanted that all the records should be sealed so that the evidence remains in its place. Dhiman said that according to the records, the government's favorite BDPO bought furniture worth about Rs 7 lakh 02 thousand 690 including 40 chairs and 3 tables. 23.24 lakh rupees were transferred in the name of the contractor, 98500 rupees were transferred in the name of Lakhwinder Singh Mahilpur, 13 lakh 01 thousand 273 rupees were transferred to the account of Raja Sales Corporation Mahilpur on 01-01-2025.
He said that the biggest thing is that even after the panchayats came into existence, the administrator BDPO Sukhjinder Singh approved the contingency fund of the 14th Finance Commission in collusion and these corrupt people did not even care about the orders of the Deputy Commissioner. It is surprising that even after the complaint made to DPO Hoshiarpur, Honorable Additional Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner on 17 February 2025, the government did not take any action, which raises many questions. Dhiman said that if all the records including the cash book are not sealed immediately and the Secretary Panchayat, Administrator Vijay Kumar and the employees of e-panchayat and the accountant in-charge BDPO are not removed from their posts, then a public interest litigation will be filed in the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court.
On this occasion, Gurpip Singh, Charanjit Kaur, Sonu Mohitpur, Party Vice President Dr. Prem Bhatia, Gulshan Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Gurnam Singh Singriwal, Amrik Chand, Manjit Singh, Gurbachan Singh etc. were present.
