67th State Level Rifle Shooting Competition begins at Government Shooting Range. Kiranjot Kaur of Mansa tops in Air Rifle Open Sight Competition.

SAS Nagar, November 4 - The 67th state level rifle shooting competition of school sports by the school education department started today at the local government shooting range.

SAS Nagar, November 4 - The 67th state level rifle shooting competition of school sports by the school education department started today at the local government shooting range. These state level shooting competitions were inaugurated by the District Sports Coordinator Dr. Indu Bala by firing a pistol. In these competitions, competitions are being conducted for girls of different classes.

Giving information in this regard, Reverend Prakash Tyur and shooting convener Supreet Singh Dhaliwal said that on the first day of the rifle shooting competitions started under the leadership of District Education Officer (Secondary) Dr. Ginni Duggal, different competitions of 14 and 17 years girls were held today. He said that in the state level shooting competitions, competitions are being conducted for boys and girls of 14 years and 17 years age group. He said that the Air Rifle Open Sight, Air Rifle Peep Sight and Air Pistol event competitions of both categories which started today will continue till November 9. He said that among the various competitions of the first round held today, Kiranjot Kaur of Mansa stood first with 299 points in Air Rifle Open Sight competition while Sukhmandeep Kaur of Rupnagar secured the second position with 283 points.

District Sports Coordinator Dr. Indu Bala said that teams from different districts of the state are participating in this rifle shooting competition for boys and girls. On this occasion Balwinder Singh Boha shooting coach, Arjit Verma shooting coach, Renu Singh, Siyam Bagla, Paramveer Kaur lecturer, head teacher Sanjeev Kumar, Samsher Singh, Narinder Singh Banga, Kirandeep Kaur, Parvinder Kaur, Sunita Rani, Amanpreet Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, Sarabjit Kaur, Krishna Mehta, Manmohan Singh and other dignitaries were also present.
