SAS Nagar, September 21 (SAB) Mohali Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi has met District Mohali Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and demanded that some important issues of Mohali city be resolved by personal intervention. Regarding this Bedi has also given a demand letter to the Deputy Commissioner. Through the letter, the Deputy Mayor has requested the Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain to solve three important issues of the city mainly through personal intervention. He said that solving these issues is the need of time. Bedi said that when there is heavy rain in Mohali city, water enters people's houses. City residents are facing a lot of problems due to lack of drainage of rain water in Phase 1, Phase 3B2, Phase 4, Phase 5, Phase 7, Phase 11, Sector 70, 71 and Mataur of the city. Sector 71 and the airport road are higher than necessary and the old city is low-lying, so it comes under the influence of rain water. Due to rainwater, there is often conflict between the residents of Phase 4 and Phase 5. They have demanded from the Deputy Commissioner to ask Gamada to dump the city's rainwater drainage pipeline into Rao's river in Patiala or to make some other suitable arrangement. He has requested the Deputy Commissioner to personally intervene in this matter and get it resolved from Gamada because Gamada has built this city and Gamada alone collects all the money and fees for the purchase of land and property. The second issue is the blind spot on the side of Airport Road and Sector 70, where a large number of road accidents occur. Due to the Gurdwara Sahib being located here, the road is badly crooked which needs to be resolved. He said that in this regard, the road can be straightened by giving alternative land to the administrators of Gurdwara Sahib. He has written that this issue was almost resolved during the previous government and an agreement was also reached with the administrators of the Gurdwara Sahib, but after the change of government, this issue has become a problem. He has written that this issue has to be resolved by Gamada but it is being unnecessarily prolonged and it needs to be resolved immediately. He has written that the traffic on the airport road has increased a lot and if it continues like this, then the crossing of traffic on this road will also become difficult. Therefore, fly overs need to be constructed at least 4 places on this road. He has written that lights with ice, lights with sectors 79-80, lights of Gurdwara Singh Shaheed Sohana and S. C. Constructing a flyover at L-shaped lights can reduce the traffic burden on this road. They demanded from the Deputy Commissioner that these three are important issues, the solution of which can be of great benefit to the people of the city. He requested the Deputy Commissioner to show personal interest and take measures to solve them so that the city residents can get relief.
