SAS Nagar, May 27- Mohali police has arrested a woman and a man with 13 grams of heroin. Giving details, Inspector Kulwant Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Mataur police station said that these persons were arrested on the basis of information from an informer as part of the drive against anti-social elements on the directions of SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans.
He said that the police had received information that Gurjinder Singh alias Manga, resident of Lower Mohalla, Sector-80, Mauli Baidwan, Mohali, and Sriya alias Sonia Verma, resident of Green Avenue, Ward No. 1, Raikot, Ludhiana, who are addicted to consuming and selling heroin, also do the business of selling heroin in the Mohali area. The police had received information that both were taking rooms in Hotel Chandigarh located in village Mataur, Mohali, who were arrested on the basis of information from an informer.
He further said that 7.40 grams of heroin was recovered from Gurjinder Singh alias Manga and 5.60 grams of heroin was recovered from Sriya alias Sonia Verma. A case has been registered against both of them under section 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act. The police produced them in the court, obtained their remand, and they are being interrogated.
