S.A.S. Nagar, May 27, 2025: As per the directions of Constituency MLA Mohali Shri Kulwant Singh, the campaign to make every village and urban area of the Dera Bassi assembly constituency drug-free is going on with enthusiasm and a large gathering of people is taking place during the drug-free yatra in various villages. 
Under this series, meetings of the War Against Drugs Defense Committees were held at villages Maujpur, Landran and New Landran, Kailo, Chapparchiri Khurd and Chapparchiri Kalan and the people were administered a pledge to eradicate drugs.
On this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that no citizen should leave any stone unturned in fulfilling that pledge by taking a pledge to make the state drug-free and by all means. Rural Defense Committees are functioning in every village and it is hoped that these Defense Committees will contribute to completely stopping the business of drug smugglers by discharging their responsibility with full zeal and honesty.
He said that it is also the duty of the people who attend the awareness meetings to continuously share the messages they receive from here with their family members, friends, neighbors and other dignitaries because only by forming a people's movement can such social evils be eradicated. This campaign will definitely eradicate drugs from the root.
He also said that the government has started a drug eradication campaign to ensure direct access to every citizen in villages and urban wards so that the supply line of drugs can be broken by taking direct feedback from the people and free and proper treatment can be provided to the people trapped in the swamp of drugs.
On this occasion, SDM Mohali, Damandeep Kaur, Tehsildar Mohali, Robinjit Kaur, DSP Harsimran Singh Bal, Gurpreet Singh Kurra, Halka Coordinator, Sarpanch Jaspreet Singh, Landran, Sarpanch Village Maujpur, Sandeep Kaur, Dharampreet Singh, Panch, Gurjit Singh, Panch, Jasvir Kaur, Panch, Block President Avtar Singh Mauli, members of Defense Committees and villagers were present.
