District Commander Gurlavdeep Singh is encouraging students, teachers and citizens to become helpful friends of the victims through training, exercises and mock drills of civil defence, first aid, CPR, care of the injured and is encouraging the youth to become volunteers of civil defence and be ready to help the countrymen during war, disasters and emergencies.
Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Instructor of First Aid Safety Health Awareness Mission and Civil Defence Patiala, under the leadership of Company Commander Mohan Deep Singh, trained the students and teachers of Green Land Public Senior Secondary School Patiala and conducted a mock drill that during war, one can be saved from poisonous gases, intense heat, bright light and smoke emitted by bombs and missiles by lying down on the ground or in trenches, because gases and smoke remain 2/3 feet above the ground.
He conducted training exercises related to rescue of victims from collapsed buildings, transportation and first aid, CPR, recovery position, ventilator artificial respiration, stopping blood flow, stabilizing broken bones and use of materials available on the spot like sheets, turbans, sticks, ropes, twigs, lemons.
Principal Mrs. Manju Garg thanked the students and said that due to hatred, ego, pride, deadly chemical and nuclear weapons, feeling and efforts of revenge, wars have always taken place and humanity has been destroyed. At this time, every student, teacher, civil servant should be ready to protect themselves and help the victims by getting trained as a volunteer of Indian Civil Defense.
The students, teachers and parents expressed their gratitude to their Principal Mrs. Manju Garg, Kaka Ram Verma and Civil Defense officials and said that if training exercises and mock drills for safety, rescue and help continue, then every civil defense volunteer should take care of the people dying on the streets, in their homes, neighborhoods and homes. The children prayed for peace, brotherhood and prosperity in the country and the world.
