Nawanshahr/Raho- National Labor Organization (NLO) Convenor Baldev Bharti said that Joint Development Commissioner-cum-Commissioner MNREGA, Rural Development and Panchayat Department has issued orders to all Additional Deputy Commissioners (RD)-cum-District Program Coordinators MNREGA through letter Memorandum No. 01/101/2025/NREGA/2110-21320 dated 16/04/2025 to register eligible MNREGA laborers as beneficiaries of Punjab Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board.
In this regard, online training has also been given to District Nodal Officer MNREGA and Assistant Program Officer MNREGA and Village Employment Assistants have been asked to register workers through 'Punjab Kirti Sahayak App'. He said that the department has also sent the list of 47,989 MNREGA workers who got 100 days of employment during the financial year 2024-25 to various districts so that eligible workers can be registered as construction worker beneficiaries.
Commenting on this, Baldev Bharti said that this initiative of the Punjab government can be called commendable but at the ground level this work is not easy for the employees and workers. Because the 'Punjab Kirti Sahayak App' is not reliable. The work of registration and implementation of welfare schemes through this app is not being done completely.
He demanded from the Punjab government that efforts should be made to run the online system portal and 'Punjab Kirti Sahayak App' properly for applying for welfare schemes at Nirman Worker Registration and Facilitation Centers, whose website remains closed for a long time due to server down, so that employees and laborers can get relief from trouble.
