TB Free India 100 Days Campaign will continue from December 7 to March 24 - Brahm Shankar Jimpa

Hoshiarpur: The Health Department Punjab has launched the 100-day TB-free campaign under the “National TB Control Program” to eradicate the serious disease like TB; today, the MLA of Hoshiarpur constituency, Hon’ble Shri Brahm Shankar Jimpa, flagged off the TB awareness van at the Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur.

On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, Mayor Mr. Surinder Kumar, Senior Medical Officer in Charge Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur Dr. Swati, SMO Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Kamlesh Kumari, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, Mr. Satwant Singh Sian, Chest and TB Specialist Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Deputy Mass Media Officer Dr. Tripta Devi, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ramandeep Kaur, Mr. Vijay Kumar and other staff members were present.
During this, a poster was also released to raise awareness about TB. Afterwards, a pledge was also taken for everyone's cooperation and participation for the eradication of TB. Speaking on the occasion, Brahm Shankar Jimpa Ji said that through this campaign, high risk TB patients of the district will be examined and treated. Giving further information, he said that TB is no longer incurable. With this campaign, we will take a big step towards the eradication of TB.
He appealed to the health workers and the common people to actively cooperate in this campaign and said that every goal can be achieved with unity and dedication. Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra said that in this campaign, special attention will be given to those groups who are more susceptible to TB by forming teams at the ground level. Under this campaign, special attention will be given to people suffering from diabetes and malnutrition, smokers and alcoholics, HIV infected and ex-TB patients and people from the labor class working in kilns, construction sites and factories.
During this, detailed information about this entire campaign was shared by Dr. Gurpreet Singh. He said that the efforts of every health worker, Niksha Mitra and the common people associated with tuberculosis will prove to be a milestone in the eradication of TB.
