Jaspreet Singh Darar Memorial Scholarship Distribution Ceremony at Khalsa College, cheques worth Rs 3.50 lakhs were distributed to needy students.

Garhshankar: At Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, a former student of the college, social worker Darshan Singh Pinka USA, distributed a financial amount of Rs 2 lakhs in memory of his son Jaspreet Singh Darar among needy students.

In the scholarship distribution ceremony organized by the college’s scholarship committee under the supervision of Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira, social worker Darshan Singh Pinka USA presented a financial amount of Rs 2 lakhs.
On this occasion, Darshan Singh Pinka donated Rs 2 lakh and in the past, Mohanwal resident Resham Singh Khalsa USA donated Rs 1 lakh and Mohanwal resident Kulvir Singh Khakh donated Rs 50 thousand, totaling Rs 3.50 lakh, were distributed to about 50 needy students by Darshan Singh Pinka.
During his address on this occasion, Darshan Singh Pinka not only motivated the college students to be obedient to their parents and teachers, but also inspired them to face the challenges of life with courage even in difficult times by sharing his life experiences.
He promised to build the main gate of the college in the memory of his late son Jaspreet Singh Darar and assured of continuous financial help to the needy students. Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira, while addressing the gathering, praised Darshan Singh Pinka for his valuable contribution to the needy students of the college and the area in the fields of sports, education and religion and wished him all the best.
He said that this initiative of the Dard family provides financial assistance to many needy students who are deprived of the benefits of any government or other scholarship facility. On this occasion, the coordinator of the scholarship committee, Dr. Janki Agarwal, while shedding light on the selection process of students for the scholarship, said that priority is given to the needy as well as the students who have achieved good results in their studies for this scholarship.
On this occasion, the students, while presenting their views, thanked Darshan Singh Pinka and his family for this initiative. While conducting the stage of the event, Dr. Naresh Kumari highlighted the contribution being made by Darshan Singh Pinka in the field of social service.
