
13719 cases were disposed of during the National Lok Adalat
SAS Nagar, 08 March 2025: As per the program sent by the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the first National Lok Adalat of the year 2025 was organized today on 08.03.2025 under the patronage of Justice Mr. Arun Palli, Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Justice Mr. Anil Khetrapal, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Administrative Judge, Sessions Division, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar and under the leadership of Mr. Atul Kasana, District and Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar.
SAS Nagar, 08 March 2025: As per the program sent by the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the first National Lok Adalat of the year 2025 was organized today on 08.03.2025 under the patronage of Justice Mr. Arun Palli, Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Justice Mr. Anil Khetrapal, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Administrative Judge, Sessions Division, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar and under the leadership of Mr. Atul Kasana, District and Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar.
In this Lok Adalat, rescissable criminal cases, cheque bounce cases, bank recovery cases, marital disputes, MACT cases, labour disputes, land acquisition cases, electricity and water bill matters, revenue department related and all kinds of civil cases were kept for disposal. ??18 benches were constituted in the District Court Mohali for this National Lok Adalat.
Presided over by Mr. Ajit Attri, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Baljinder Singh Sara, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Barjinder Pal Singh, Principal Judge, Family Court, Mr. Harsimranjit Singh, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Tejpratap Singh Randhawa, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Anish Goyal, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Mrs. Shweta Dash, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Abhay Rajan Shukla, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mrs. Poonam Kashyap, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Kirandeep Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Sangam Kaushal, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mrs. Neha Jindal, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mrs. Kamal Varinder, Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal, Smt. Gurmeet Kaur, Chairperson, Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utilities), Shri Satish Kumar Agarwal, President District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Banur.
Apart from this, 3 benches were constituted at Sub-Division, Derabassi under the leadership of Mrs. Navreet Kaur, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Civil Judge (Junior Division) and 5 benches at Tehsildar, Kharar under the leadership of Mr. Hasan Deep Singh Bajwa, Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Mrs. Geeta Rani, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mr. Gurmehtab Singh, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar, Majri. For this National Lok Adalat, all the courts of Mohali, Derabassi and Kharar kept maximum cases for settlement on the basis of conciliation.
All the courts of the district and sub-divisions kept cases for conciliation in the National Lok Adalat with the consent of the various parties and got them settled. For the success of this National Lok Adalat, Shri Atul Kasana, Honorable District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, had called various meetings from time to time in which all the judges were encouraged to dispose of maximum cases in the National Lok Adalat.
The District and Sessions Judge informed the officers of various departments like Banks, Electricity Department, Labor Department and Insurance Companies etc. about this National Lok Adalat and told them that whatever cases can be disposed of on the basis of conciliation. They should be placed in this National Lok Adalat. Mrs. Surabhi Parashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar said that a total of 18096 cases were kept for disposal in today's National Lok Adalat. Out of which 13719 cases were disposed of and awards worth a total of 196,19,56,727/— were passed.
