Punjab Government's 'War against Drugs' campaign is commendable - Harchand Singh Barsat

Mohali, March 4, 2025- State General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab and Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board, S. Harchand Singh Barsat said that the 'War against Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is a very commendable step. This campaign will prove to be a boon for ending drug abuse in Punjab and to bring the youth out of the quagmire of drugs.

Mohali, March 4, 2025- State General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab and Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board, S. Harchand Singh Barsat said that the 'War against Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is a very commendable step. This campaign will prove to be a boon for ending drug abuse in Punjab and to bring the youth out of the quagmire of drugs.
He said that the Punjab Government is committed to eradicate drug abuse from the state. Under this, strict action is being taken against drug smugglers continuously. He said that while the government is taking strict steps to eradicate drug abuse, it is also the responsibility of the common people to be a part of this campaign run by the Punjab Government and contribute to make Punjab drug free.
He appealed to all social organizations, religious organizations, institutions and common people to come forward and support this campaign of the state government so that Punjab can be made a drug free state.
S. Barsat said that Punjab Mandi Board is also extending its full support to eliminate drug abuse from the state and encourage youth towards sports. He said that there are big covered sheds in the Mandis of Punjab, which are used only during the paddy and wheat season, while the rest of the time they remain empty.
Due to this, during the off season, the covered sheds lying empty in the Mandis of Punjab state are provided free of cost for giving training in sports for indoor sports. He said that everyone should come together and extend their cooperation to make Punjab drug free.
