
Torture on 10-year-old child: Instructions for strict action against the culprits
Patiala, February 3 - Taking suo motu cognizance of the news of torture on a 10-year-old child in Rishi Colony of Patiala being broadcast on various channels, Chairman of Punjab Child Rights Commission Kanwardeep Singh today met the victim undergoing treatment at Government Rajindra Hospital and enquired about his well-being.
Patiala, February 3 - Taking suo motu cognizance of the news of torture on a 10-year-old child in Rishi Colony of Patiala being broadcast on various channels, Chairman of Punjab Child Rights Commission Kanwardeep Singh today met the victim undergoing treatment at Government Rajindra Hospital and enquired about his well-being.
After this, he held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh at the District Administrative Complex and directed to take strict action against the culprits. Joint Director Rajwinder Singh Gill was also present on the occasion.
Chairman Kanwardeep Singh expressed grief over this inhuman incident of applying hot iron on a 10-year-old child and said that the Commission will deal with such cases strictly. He ordered strict action against the culprits of the incident and asked the police not to spare any culprit.
He said that the Commission will not tolerate such incident at all and the culprits will be given severe punishment. ADC Isha Singhal, DSP Manoj Gorsi, District Child Protection Officer Dr. Saina Kapoor, District Program Officer Pradeep Singh were also present on this occasion.
