
Ban on gathering of five or more people
Nawanshahr- District Magistrate, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman, in exercise of powers vested in him under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Act, 2023, has banned the gathering of five or more people in public places; raising slogans/making inflammatory speeches, taking out processions/meetings/rallying in public places without permission in order to maintain law and order in the district of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
Nawanshahr- District Magistrate, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman, in exercise of powers vested in him under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Act, 2023, has banned the gathering of five or more people in public places; raising slogans/making inflammatory speeches, taking out processions/meetings/rallying in public places without permission in order to maintain law and order in the district of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
This ban will remain in force till March 31, 2025. He said that in special circumstances, public meetings, processions or rallies can be held by taking prior permission from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate will keep in mind the orders issued by the Government of India, the Government of Punjab and the District Magistrate from time to time while granting permission for this purpose.
They have exempted military personnel and government employees in police/army uniform from this ban on singing the praises of God during duty and at weddings/mourning gatherings/religious places and institutions.
