
Awareness programme organised to promote Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rozgar Yojana.
Garhshankar, August 7- A special awareness programme was organised by EPFO Regional Office Jalandhar at Quantum Paper Mills Limited, Saila Khurd, Garhshankar today to promote Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rozgar Yojana. The scheme aims to create 3.5 crore new formal jobs in the country, for which the Central Government has made a budget provision of ?99,446 crore.
Garhshankar, August 7- A special awareness programme was organised by EPFO Regional Office Jalandhar at Quantum Paper Mills Limited, Saila Khurd, Garhshankar today to promote Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rozgar Yojana. The scheme aims to create 3.5 crore new formal jobs in the country, for which the Central Government has made a budget provision of ?99,446 crore.
Under this scheme, registered employees getting employment for the first time will be given an incentive of up to ?15,000 in two installments - one after 6 months of service and the other after completion of 12 months of service and financial literacy programme.
In addition, employers will get a monthly incentive of ?1,000 to ?3,000 per new employee for two years, and for the construction sector, this benefit will be extended for four years. The programme was chaired by Pankaj Kumar, Regional Future Finance Commissioner Grade-1, while Pinkaj Sarpal, DPA, EPFO Jalandhar, efficiently conducted the entire session.
On the occasion, Shri Satyawan Singh, Assistant Director, ESIC briefed the gathering about the scheme, which provides an opportunity to employers and employees of the informal sector to voluntarily register with ESIC without any arrears, scrutiny or penalty between July 1 and December 31, 2025. The scheme is an important step towards increasing social security coverage.
The programme was also attended by EPFO Enforcement Officers Shri Deepak Kumar and Shri Begraj and Branch Manager Shri Balwant Singh. Senior officers including Shri Ajay Sharma (AVP-HR), Shri MR Yadav (GM-Administration), Shri Sudhir Kumar Taviari (AGM-HR) and Shri Rohti Sharma (Senior Manager-HR).
Representatives from various industry units and HR managers actively participated in the programme, got first-hand information about the schemes and appreciated the initiative of the government which is taking India towards a formal, secure and developed employment system.
