Bhasha Vibhag installs 20 more writers' portraits at Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi

Patiala, Feb 1- Bhasha Vibhag Punjab has installed 20 more portraits of eminent Punjabi writers at Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi so that the legacy of Punjabi writers can spread beyond Punjab. On this occasion, Director Bhasha Vibhag Punjab Jaswant Singh Zafar expressed happiness and said that decorating Punjab Bhawan with portraits of great Punjabi writers will not only make us hold our heads high but will also expand the boundaries of Punjabi.

Patiala, Feb 1- Bhasha Vibhag Punjab has installed 20 more portraits of eminent Punjabi writers at Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi so that the legacy of Punjabi writers can spread beyond Punjab. On this occasion, Director Bhasha Vibhag Punjab Jaswant Singh Zafar expressed happiness and said that decorating Punjab Bhawan with portraits of great Punjabi writers will not only make us hold our heads high but will also expand the boundaries of Punjabi.
He said that more such portraits will be installed at Punjab Bhawan in the future as well. The famous writers whose portraits were installed yesterday included Prof. Puran Singh, Nand Lal Noorpuri, Sant Ram Udaasi, Balwant Gargi, Gurmukh Singh Musafir, Sahadat Hassan Manto, Nora Richards, Gurbakhsh Singh Preetlari, Babu Rajab Ali, Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha, Davinder Satyarthi, Dhani Ram Chatrik, Dr. Jagtar, Giani Hira Singh Dard, Gurdayal Singh, Gursharan Singh, Pandit Shraddha Ram Phillauri.
On this occasion, he promised Deputy Resident Commissioner of Punjab Bhawan Asita Sharma that the target of putting up pictures of 100 Punjabi scholars would be accomplished by the end of the year. Assistant Director of Language Department Alok Chawla, District Language Officer Ajitpal Singh, Moga, Superintendent Bhupinderpal Singh, Research Officer Santokh Singh Sukhi were present on this occasion.
