SAS Nagar, January 20, 2025: Deepak Pareekh IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar told the media that following the directions of Shri Gaurav Yadav IPS, DGP Punjab, Shri Harcharan Singh Bhullar IPS, DIG Ropar Range, SAS Nagar (Mohali), the police have arrested 02 members of Lakhvir Landa and Gurdev Singh alias Jaisal group who were committing robbery and extortion related incidents in various districts of Punjab.
Giving information, SSP Deepak Pareekh further said that on 08-01-2025 Ekamdeep Singh Brar son of Pushpinder Singh Brar resident Patiala along with his friend was travelling in his car number PB34-B-2354 brand Etios from Patiala to Liwa, when they were going towards Chandigarh, 3 unknown boys were following them. Who parked their motorcycle in front of his car near the GMI board on Airport Road and fired directly at him with their illegal weapons with the intention of killing him and snatching his car. One bullet hit the left shoulder of his friend sitting on the connector side, one bullet hit his back and the remaining bullets hit the vehicle.
After this, these people fled on a motorcycle. On which case number 05 dated 08-01-2025 was registered against 03 unknown persons under sections 109, 126 (2), 3 (5) BNS and 25-54-59 Arms Act at IT City Police Station.
To investigate the above incident, a team of Inspector Harminder Singh Incharge CIA Staff was formed under the supervision of Mrs. Jyoti Yadav IPS Captain Police (Investigation), Mr. Talwinder Singh PPS Deputy Captain Police (Investigation). On which, the team connected the links and chased the culprits with the help of technical and human resources and named 03 unknown culprits in the case and arrested 02 culprits. Details of the accused:
1. Avtar Singh alias Vicky son Mukhwinder Singh resident of village Gurmukhan Di Patti, Khadoor Sahib, District Tarn Taran (age 21 years, 12th pass, arrested on 15-01-2025)
2. Amarbir Singh son Jatinder Singh, resident of village Daffar Di Patti, Khadoor Sahib, District Tarn Taran, (age 20 years, 11th pass, arrested on 15-01-2025)
3. Anmol Singh alias Maula son Harjinder Singh resident of village Waring Suba Singh, District Tarn Taran. (Not arrested yet)
Recoveries:
1) 03 Pistols.32 bore and 09 rounds.32 bore
2) 01 Country made Pistol.32 bore and 02 cartridges
3) 01 Country made Pistol.315 bore and 02 cartridges
4) Brezza Car, PB91-G-4016 (snatched from Sahnewal, Ludhiana)

More details:
On interrogation, the accused disclosed that they are involved in cases in various districts and are wanted.
The three accused had come by bus from Khadoor Sahib to Rajpura on 07.01.2025 to join the protest at Shambhu border
1. They snatched Splendor bike from a person after firing 2 rounds on Rajpura-Ambala Highway, PS Shambhu. FIR No. 04/2025 dated 15.01.2025, PS Shambhu has been registered.
2. Then they came to Mohali and attempted to snatch an Etios Liva car after firing 4 rounds. FIR No. 05/2025, dated 08.01.2025, PS IT City has been registered.
3. Then they snatched a Brezza car from Sahnewal area on 08.01.2025 at around 7/8 am after firing 2 rounds. FIR No. 04/2025 dated 08.01.2025, PS Sahnewal has been registered.
4. On 10.01.2025, they fired 9 rounds at the house of Sonu in Mukerian at the behest of Lakhbir Landa after extorting Rs. 1 crore. Accused Avtar and Anmol are involved in this incident along with 2/3 more persons. They used the Brezza car snatched from Ludhiana in this incident. FIR No. 05/2025, dated 10.01.2025, PS Mukerian.
5. Accused Avtar is also wanted in FIR No. 538/2024 dated 16.12.2024, PS Goindwal Sahib, Tarn Taran (along with 5/6 others).
Accused Anmol is wanted in FIR No. 171 dated 25-12-2024 U/S 304 (1) BNS PS Kartarpur, Jalandhar Rural.
The accused are on 04 day police remand.
Further investigation is going on in the case.
