Nawanshahr- Punjab State Legal Services Authority S.A.S. Nagar, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Priya Sood held a meeting of Under Trial Review Committee today. Civil Judge (Senior Division)/CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Dr. Amandeep, CJM Madam Parvinder Kaur, ADC (General) Rajiv Verma, SP (D) Mukesh Kumar, DSP Lakhvir Singh and Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Gurpal Singh were present in this meeting.
During this meeting, the District and Sessions Judge directed the officers present in the meeting to provide legal aid to the prisoners on priority basis. Apart from this, he directed Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Gurpal Singh to provide legal aid to the prisoners by visiting the jails related to the district from time to time and making them aware about free legal aid.
Apart from this, he instructed the police department officials to make the arrested person aware about free legal aid before arrest. He informed that National Lok Adalat will be organized in the district on 08.03.2025. He instructed to send peddling traffic challan and get the admissibility report and cancellation case registered in this court. Apart from this, he told the officers present to make the general public as aware as possible about this National Lok Adalat.
