
Traffic Police made students aware about drug de-addiction and following traffic rules at Chandigarh University, Ghandua
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, December 19, 2024: Shri Deepak Pareek IPS Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, Shri Harinder Singh Mann PPS, Superintendent of Police Traffic, Karnail Singh PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic, Ajay Bhardwaj Group Captain and ASI Janak Raj Incharge Traffic Education Cell organized a special seminar on drug de-addiction and following traffic rules on the seventh day of Air Wing Camp (Annual Camp- CATC 98) at Chandigarh University, Ghandua today.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, December 19, 2024: Shri Deepak Pareek IPS Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, Shri Harinder Singh Mann PPS, Superintendent of Police Traffic, Karnail Singh PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic, Ajay Bhardwaj Group Captain and ASI Janak Raj Incharge Traffic Education Cell organized a special seminar on drug de-addiction and following traffic rules on the seventh day of Air Wing Camp (Annual Camp- CATC 98) at Chandigarh University, Ghandua today.
The main message of this seminar was to make the students aware about the ill effects of drug abuse, importance of following traffic rules and to motivate them for sports. On this occasion, children below 18 years of age were made aware not to drive vehicles and it was also told that if a child below 18 years of age drives a vehicle, then his parents will be imprisoned for 3 years and fined up to Rs 25,000. The person who gives a vehicle to a child below 18 years of age can also be imprisoned for 3 years or fined.
During the camp, Dr. Shaina Verma of Punjab State Red Cross gave information to the students about CPR and first aid. Along with this, the students were made aware about the Good Samaritan Award Scheme run by the government and it was told that if a person helps an accident victim, then he will be given Rs 2000 (under the scheme) by the government. An appeal was made to the general public that if you have given any of your flats or houses on rent, then get the police verification of your tenants done.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic S. Karnail Singh PPS finally motivated all the students to go towards sports. Apart from this, all the students were explained that through this seminar, you should also make your family members aware about national education and also make your family members aware about not driving after drinking alcohol and not driving at high speed and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
