Nawanshahr: Sub Divisional Magistrate Nawanshahr Dr. Akshita Gupta today held a meeting of Punjab Building and Construction Workers Committee Sub-Division Nawanshahr. In which the applications received from various registered beneficiaries regarding the welfare schemes being run by the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board were considered.
In the meeting, a total of 55 beneficiary cases including Rs. 4,85,000 under the scholarship scheme, ex-gratia grant Rs. 3,00,000 and one pension case were approved. She appealed to the general laborers to get their names registered and said that they can avail various schemes being run by the Punjab Government, such as Shagun Scheme; Travel Facilities; Children's Scholarship Scheme; Ex-gratia Grant; General Surgery; Treatment of Dangerous Diseases; Maternity Scheme; Eligible beneficiaries of financial assistance for the maintenance of mentally handicapped/afflicted children and pension scheme etc. can apply on the online portal through their application service center.
He said that in this regard, they can get financial assistance related to the schemes by contacting the Labour and Counselling Officer, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhawan, Gujjarpur).
