Advocate Hardev Singh announced a donation of one crore rupees for the fund scholarship scheme

Mandi Gobindgarh, November 5 – Desh Bhagat University has established the Mata Jarnail Kaur Corpus Fund Scholarship Scheme to help the meritorious, needy, backward, economically backward, handicapped persons and girls among other categories. This scholarship fund honors the legacy of Mata Jarnail Kaur Ji; and is being started by a respected and philanthropic lawyer Sardar Hardev Singh with a generous contribution of Rs.1 crore.

This scholarship fund honors the legacy of Mata Jarnail Kaur Ji; and is being started by a respected and philanthropic lawyer Sardar Hardev Singh with a generous contribution of Rs.1 crore.

Shri Hardev Singh was also honored on this occasion.
Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Zora Singh expressed gratitude for the establishment of the fund and highlighted its importance in bridging the gap in educational access. He said, “This scholarship is not only a tribute to Mata Jarnail Kaur ji, but also a step towards promoting equality in education by empowering students. Meanwhile, Pro-Chancellor of the University Dr. Tajinder Kaur was also specially present.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhijit Joshi said that with this initiative, Desh Bhagat University reaffirms its commitment to empower youth, promote diversity and set a benchmark in inclusive higher education across the region.
DBU Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadavarti, said that the Mata Jarnail Kaur Corpus Fund Scholarship is an effort to reduce the financial burden on eligible students so that students belonging to special classes can focus on their academic pursuits without financial stress.
