Dussehra, the symbol of the victory of good and evil, was celebrated with great fanfare

Maur Mandi - Like every year, this year also Dussehra festival was celebrated with great fanfare at two places. One was celebrated by Sri Rama Natak Club in the grounds of SD High School and the other by Sri Krishna Dramatic Club in the grounds of Khalsa High School. Before this, Shobha Yatra was taken out in the afternoon which was flagged off by Shri Kala Babaji. Jyoti Pujan was performed by Sri Kantesh Singlaji.

Thousands of children, elders, mothers, sisters participated in Shobha Yatra. Shobha Yatra started from Sri Krishna Mandir and passed through street markets and ended at Sri Krishna Mandir. There was a lot of activity in the markets in the evening. The stages were decorated with decoration lights by Sri Rama Natak Club and Sri Krishna Dramatic Club. In the evening, a colorful program of Gidha, Bhangra, dance and culture was presented by the school children in the Dussehra fair. Statues of Ravana and Kumbhakaran were erected in the grounds of both the schools.
 The battle between Sri Ram Chandraji and Ravana was depicted by the artists. The police administration was fully alert at the Dussehra fairs. A fire brigade vehicle and an ambulance were also present to prevent any untoward incident. Sri Rama Natak Club Dussehra Fair was attended by Chief Guest Mr. Maninder Singh Sekhon (Punjab President) Rashtriya Punjabi Mahasabha Punjab and Dr. Swaran Prakash Garg Chairman Sant Fateh Singh Convet School Maur Mandi and Shubham Bansal as special guests.
 Bollywood and Punjabi comedy artists who worked in films like "Singh is King" and "Dangal" specially arrived and entertained the people in the Dussehra fair held at Sri Rama Natak Club. Chief guest Punjabi artist and writer Mr. G Kush and special guest Mr. Satish Kumar Gupta, Chairman MSD School Maur Mandi attended the Dussehra Mela with Sri Krishna Dramatic Club.
At sunset, effigies of Ravana and Kumbhakaran were lit by the chief guests. In the Dussehra fair, the sight of crackers and fireworks touching the sky was a sight to behold.
