
No mistake should be made in implementing Punjabi in full form: District Magistrate
Patiala, October 1 - District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav has issued instructions to fully implement Punjabi as the state language. He said that names of all government, semi-government departments, institutions, boards, corporations and non-government organizations, public and private shops and commercial establishments and road names/name strips/milestones/sign boards should be written in Punjabi language (Gurmukhi script).
Patiala, October 1 - District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav has issued instructions to fully implement Punjabi as the state language. He said that names of all government, semi-government departments, institutions, boards, corporations and non-government organizations, public and private shops and commercial establishments and road names/name strips/milestones/sign boards should be written in Punjabi language (Gurmukhi script).
He instructed that no negligence should be used in this matter. He said that it has been noticed that despite the instructions issued by the state government, Punjabi language is not being given priority in many places. And institutions are not writing their names in Punjabi language. In this regard, he has issued a letter to the heads of all the departments and has written that the areas/offices/private places/roads/institutions etc. under them should be checked. And it should be ensured that names are written in Punjabi language by each institution. He said that it is our responsibility to give respect to the state language and it must be given priority. Priti Yadav said with reference to the letter issued by the District Language Officer of the Language Department to all departments and institutions that if these orders and the instructions issued by the Punjab Government, Higher Education and Language are not followed. Then the penalty will be imposed as per the provisions contained in the Punjab State Language (Amendment) Act 2008 and 2021.
