Hoshiarpur - The Disabled Persons Welfare Society organized a function on the occasion of the birthday of Helen Keller, the world's first woman who graduated despite being unable to see and hear. Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Sharma, president of the society, said that Helen Keller was established in life despite being visually and hearing impaired and worked a lot to establish the disabled in the society.

Helen Keller emerged as a messiah for Divyanga around the world. On this occasion, a check of ten thousand rupees was given for audiometry test of 31 deaf children of the district. On this occasion, Raj Kumar was unanimously appointed as the cashier of the society.
