
‘Nikkiya Karumbalan’ annual award distribution ceremony was memorable
Mahilpur, 28 February- Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the children's literature magazine ‘Nikkiya Karumbalan’ listed in the India Book of Records, Nikkiya Karumbalan Publications Mahilpur in collaboration with the Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, organized the annual Nikkiya Karumbalan award distribution ceremony in the Gadri Baba Harjaap Singh Convention Hall of Khalsa College.
Mahilpur, 28 February- Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the children's literature magazine ‘Nikkiya Karumbalan’ listed in the India Book of Records, Nikkiya Karumbalan Publications Mahilpur in collaboration with the Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, organized the annual Nikkiya Karumbalan award distribution ceremony in the Gadri Baba Harjaap Singh Convention Hall of Khalsa College.
Dedicated to children's literature writers late Priyanka Sarwan Ram Bhatia and Pammi Khushalpuri, personalities from the fields of literature, art, culture and education and students participated enthusiastically in this ceremony. At the beginning of the ceremony, the students prepared under the leadership of Dr. Kuldeep Singh, head of the music department of the college, sang shabads.
Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly and MLA Jai Krishan Singh Raudi, who was present as the chief guest on the occasion, congratulated the main organizer Baljinder Mann for organizing such an event to promote children's literature and donated Rs 50,000 to the trust from his discretionary fund. On this occasion, Principal of Khalsa College Mahilpur, Dr. Parwinder Singh shared the welcome words and appreciated the work being done in the field of children's literature by Baljinder Mann and the office bearers of Karumbalan Trust.
The presidium of the function included Sahitya Akademi Award winning writer Manmohan Singh Daau, Sardar Kulwant Singh Sangha, Prof. Apinder Singh Mahilpuri, Balveer Singh Sewak, Shivinderjit Singh Bains retired SP, Roshanjit Panam, Amandeep Bains and in their address, congratulated Editor Baljinder Mann for the continuity of Nikkiyaan Karumbalan magazine.
Head of Punjabi Department, Dr. JB Sekhon spoke about the contribution of young children in the context of the history of children's literature and the current status of Punjabi children's literature. On this occasion, the organizers, under the leadership of Baljinder Mann, honored five children's literature writers Hardev Singh Bhullar Ferozepur, Mandeep Rimpi Ropar, Uma Kamal Talwara, Anju V Ratti Hoshiarpur and Amarpreet Singh Jhita Jalandhar with the Mata Bhajan Kaur Yadgari Puraskar.
During this, ten literary students of the school who were winners in the Gyani Harkeval Singh Yadgari Sahitya Srujan Competition were honored with cash prizes and certificates. On this occasion, Sahitya Akademi and Shiromani Children's Literature and Artist Kamaljit Nilon mesmerized the atmosphere with his children's songs and received a lot of appreciation from the audience present.
Prof. Apinder Singh Mahilpuri and Manmohan Singh Dau congratulated Baljinder Mann for organizing such an event. Prof. Baldev Singh Balli expressed his gratitude. The stage was conducted brilliantly by actor Ashok Puri. On this occasion, the organizers honored the dignitaries present. During the ceremony, many literature lovers including Mr. Jagmohan Singh, Kamaljit Singh Canada, Chanchal Singh Bains, Balveer Singh Palli Jhikki, Dr. Jeet Davinderjit Singh, Ashok Puri, Arvinder Singh Haveli, Charanjit Singh Channi, Bagga Singh Artist, Mr. Manjit Kaur, Sukhman Singh, Tanveer Mann, Ravinder Bangar, Baljit Kaur, Ram Tirath Parmar, Rupinder Jot Singh, Harmanpreet Kaur, Mr. Sarabjit Singh, Professor Balveer were present. Five children's literature writers were honored with Mata Bhajan Kaur Memorial Award.
