Chandigarh, June 14 - Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Mr. Anil Vij today paid a courtesy call on Defence Minister of India Mr. Rajnath Singh at his residence in New Delhi. During this, Mr. Vij placed three important demands related to the development of his assembly constituency Ambala Cantt before the Defence Minister

Appeal to provide military land for expansion of Civil Hospital-
Mr. Vij appealed to the Haryana government to provide the adjoining military land for the expansion of Civil Hospital and Atal Cancer Hospital. He said that Atal Cancer Hospital was started in Ambala on May 9, 2022 and now patients from seven states are coming here for treatment. There is no proper arrangement for the patients and their relatives to stay there. There is a plan to build a Dharamshala for this. Also, approval has already been given to open a Critical Care Center and a Spinal Injury Center, for which about two to three acres of land is required. This center will treat patients with spinal cord related diseases. Approval for opening the center was already given. The center will also provide comprehensive management of all spinal cord related diseases of patients.

Demand for construction of a forelane road for the domestic airport-
The Cabinet Minister appealed to construct a forelane on the road under the Army connecting the Ambala Canter Domestic Airport from BC Bazaar to GT Road. He said that earlier the state government had given Rs 133 crore to the Ministry of Defense in exchange for 20 acres of land for the construction of the same airport and now widening the road is necessary for ease of transportation.

Request to widen narrow roads adjacent to military areas-
Cabinet Minister Anil Vij also asked Defense Minister Rajnath to widen narrow roads at many places in Ambala Cantt Nagar Parishad and Cantt Board like Boh, Babyal etc. to the same width as the front and back roads. He said that the width of these roads built decades ago is less and now they need to be widened.
