Hoshiarpur - District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal appointed the youth election ambassadors in the district today at the district administrative complex. Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rahul Chaba honored Returning Officer Hoshiarpur along with Assistant Returning Officers Attached Youth Election Ambassador and invited them to continuously educate young voters.
Meanwhile, the Youth Election Ambassadors shared their experiences and thanked the administration, which provided an excellent platform to the young voters at the district level. District Development Fellow Joya Saddiqui, District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli, Tehsildar Elections Sarabjit Singh, Assistant Sweep Nodal AFR Officer Ankur Sharma and other officials were also present with him on this occasion. The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal, one of the best such programs has been started in the district, which has not been done anywhere else in the state. He said that this excellent program of awareness among young voters has set an example in the state. He said that the Youth Election Ambassadors are playing an important role in making the young voters aware of the vote and the amount of awareness that the Youth Ambassadors have created in a few days is commendable.
He said that these ambassadors are making young voters aware of voting in their respective assembly constituencies. He said that the purpose of this program is to educate the young voters about the voting process as well as to make them aware of the election process, so that they can understand why we are celebrating the elections as a festival of democracy.
It may be mentioned that Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal's visionary thinking started the Youth Election Ambassador Program in the district. Under this programme, successful young boy and girl voters of their respective areas have been added as youth ambassadors along with District Election Officer-cum-Returning Officer and all Assistant Returning Officers of the district.
