Una, March 14 - Holi fair will start from March 17 at Dera Baba Badbhag Singh in Medi. The ceremony of Nishan Sahib (flag hoisting) will be performed on 25th March. Whereas Panja Prasad will be distributed on the midnight of 27th March. Regarding the successful organization of the fair, a review meeting was organized at Bachat Bhawan Amb on Thursday under the chairmanship of ADC. He urged all the officials to establish mutual coordination and make the fair a success.

Whereas Panja Prasad will be distributed on the midnight of 27th March. Regarding the successful organization of the fair, a review meeting was organized at Bachat Bhawan Amb on Thursday under the chairmanship of ADC. He urged all the officials to establish mutual coordination and make the fair a success.
Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that necessary guidelines have been given by organizing a meeting with various departments including Gurudwara management, local Panchayat Committee, Panchayat Pradhan for successfully organizing the Medi Fair. Responsibilities of all the agencies including police and traffic management have been fixed for cleanliness, electricity and drinking water management. He said that for the convenience of the devotees, a medical post will also be available in the fair area. During the fair, ADC Una will be the fair officer and SDM will be the assistant fair officer while ASP Una will be the police fair officer and DSP will be the assistant police fair officer.
ADC said that from the security point of view, the entire fair area will be divided into 10 sectors and one sector magistrate and one sector police officer will be deployed in each sector. 1700 police and home guard personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order during the fair.
ADC said that adequate temporary toilets will be constructed to maintain cleanliness during the fair and temporary sanitation workers will be deployed at various places to collect garbage and maintain them. He said that temporary cleaning staff will remain in the fair premises for three days after the conclusion of the fair so that complete cleanliness of the fair area can be ensured. In order to provide clean and adequate drinking water during the fair, instructions were also given to the IPH department to do chlorination of water and to take water samples from time to time. A fire brigade vehicle will also be deployed to deal with any fire incident during the fair. He said that to deal with fire incidents, ensure thorough inspection of hydrants.
Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that it will be mandatory to take permission from SDM Amb before serving langar during the fair. He also directed the concerned departmental officers to take necessary steps to check the food items served during the fair. The problem of beggars will also be dealt with strictly during the fair. For this, he also called upon the concerned Gurudwara managers to provide their full cooperation to the administration so that the fair can be conducted successfully.
He said that the district administration will endeavor to ensure that the devotees coming to the fair get all kinds of facilities in the fair area. Apart from this, there will be a complete ban on the arrival of devotees in goods vehicles, to implement which the fair committee is making wide publicity. He told that through Gurudwaras also a message will be given to the Sangat not to come in goods vehicles. Apart from this, officials of neighboring states are also being requested to ensure complete restriction on the movement of devotees coming through such goods vehicles at their level. He has appealed to the devotees coming from outside states to avoid traveling in goods vehicles without risking their lives. Before coming to the fair, devotees should get special permits issued for buses and reach the fair only. Adequate parking arrangements will be made by the administration for vehicle parking and flood lights will also be installed at the parking lot. He said that a temporary bus stand will be built for parking of vehicles. He said that the police administration will take action against the culprits if they come in goods vehicles.
ADC said that for the convenience of the devotees, sign boards in Hindi and Punjabi languages will also be installed at various places.
On this occasion, officers of various departments including ASP Sanjeev Bhatia, SDM Amb Vivek Mahajan, CMO Sanjeev Verma were present.
