Krishi Vigyan Kendra organized a training camp on 'Natural Farming' at village Bassi Ghulam Hussain

Hoshiarpur - Krishi Science Center, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur organized a training camp on natural farming at village Bassi Ghulam Hussain of district Hoshiarpur. Welcoming the trainees, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr. Maninder Singh Bounce shared with them the various ongoing activities of KVK. He highlighted the importance and scope of organic farming and also motivated the farmers to adopt organic farming for better human, soil and environmental health.

He highlighted the importance and scope of organic farming and also motivated the farmers to adopt organic farming for better human, soil and environmental health. Dr. Bounce appealed to the trainees to encourage the farmers practicing organic farming by purchasing directly from the farmers.
   Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science) KVK Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh gave detailed information about various aspects of natural farming, its principles and components like bio amrit, seed amrit, mulching and different plants. Safety measures like use of Agni Astra, Brahm Astra, sour lassi in natural farming were also discussed in detail. He also inspired the trainees to convert some part of their land into organic farming.
   On this occasion, Narendra Singh, President of Innovative Farmers Association, informed about the various aspects of natural farming and emphasized on the need to identify friendly insects and their role in natural farming and take care of them.
   Other progressive natural farming farmers of the district also interacted with the trainees. Karnail Singh of village Bassi Ghulam Hussain, who is also the training secretary of IFA, explained about the cultivation and self-marketing of vegetables grown on his farm. Another veteran member of IFA, Tarsem Singh, village Neela Naloa discussed processing and cultivation of pulses for value addition and Bakshish Singh, village Haripur gave information on traditional farming and herbs used in daily cooking. On this occasion, a method demonstration was also conducted on preparation of bio nectar, seed nectar and other compounds for plant nutrition and protection in natural farming. Local herbs and useful plants were also introduced to the present farmers.
