Hoshiarpur- In a press note issued by former Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sood, it has been said that the Punjab government is going to acquire about 40000 acres of land in 20 big cities of Punjab under the Land Pooling Scheme. The Land Pooling Scheme is the brainchild of 'AAP' leaders rejected by the people of Delhi and may unleash a big corruption scam in the coming times.
BJP leaders Yashpal Sharma, Pandit Chandra Shekhar Tiwari and Ram Singh etc., who were present with Mr. Sood, said that the worst thing is that fertile land near urban areas is being included in it. Due to which a large area will be deprived of agriculture. He said that at present the contract of agricultural land in Punjab is going on at the rate of Rs 70-80 thousand per acre.
The government has promised to give only Rs 30 thousand annually and the biggest thing is that this money will also stop after three years. The land owner may or may not get the plot. After the notification, the land will become the property of the government but farmers having less than 1 acre of land will neither get a contract nor a commercial plot.
Due to this entire process, about 30 thousand farmers of Punjab will become unemployed and along with them thousands of farm laborers will also become homeless. Industries related to agriculture will also suffer huge losses. Under this scheme, the Punjab government is going to grab the land of 158 villages of Punjab. Mr. Sood said that Punjab has already become so urbanized that there is no need for more residential plots here.
Agriculture expert Mr. Sardara Singh Johal has also called this scheme wrong and said that first the incomplete colonies should be settled and the needs of the people should be fulfilled. Mr. Sood said that this scheme cannot be successful in any way. This scheme will end the identity of many people as farmers and food security will also end.
Punjab, the food provider of the country, whose economy is dependent on agriculture, will get trapped in more economic crisis due to this scheme. BJP leaders said that this scheme should be stopped immediately. If it is not cancelled then BJP will start a big movement against it.
