
The Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme of the Technical Education Department has emerged as a ray of hope for the economically weaker students.

To create awareness in this regard, Principal Raksha Kiran of Government Polytechnic College Khuni Mazra has formed teams of heads of various departments who will visit various areas of the district and make the common people aware about this scheme.

In this regard, the college's Civil Engineering In-charge Officer and Media In-charge Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal informed during the awareness camps in Landran, Dau, Mauli Baidwan and Matour that under this scheme, students can get scholarships ranging from 70 per cent to 100 per cent on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance qualifying examination.
If a student gets 60 percent marks then he will get 70 percent tuition fee waiver, a student with 70 percent marks will get 80 percent, a student with more than 80 percent marks will get 90 percent and a student with more than 90 percent marks will get 100 percent tuition fee waiver. This scheme is applicable only in government polytechnic colleges. Besides this, students from scheduled castes can also take admission under PMSS scholarship scheme.
Avtar Singh, a member of the team present with him, informed that the eligibility for three-year Diploma Engineering and Technology course is 10th, for Diploma Pharmacy the eligibility is 12th Science and for Modern Office Practice the eligibility is 10+2 Arts.
