Patiala- The campaign against drug abuse gained momentum when children came to know that consumption of zarda, tobacco, cigarettes, alcohol and continuous use of sleeping pills or painkillers can lead to cancer, jaundice and heart, brain and liver diseases.

Giving this information, Ramandeep Kaur and Chairman Varinder Singh of Sony Public School Patiala said that in their school, social worker Jatwinder Grewal, Punjab Police Traffic Education Cell officer Ram Saran and Red Cross Society retired training supervisor Kaka Ram Verma have made children aware against drug abuse, buying and selling and the houses of drug smugglers are being raided.
Drug addicts die prematurely due to cancer, jaundice, heart attacks, TB, asthma and accidents. Then the children vowed that they will make their family members understand and if they do not stop taking drugs then they will go on hunger strike so that their home, parents and elders remain safe, healthy and happy and they can study well and take care of them with their blessings and support.
On this occasion, everyone thanked the Punjab Police, Army, Fire Brigade personnel and social workers who always strive for the safety, rescue, help and awareness of the country, society and people.
