Hoshiarpur- Bahujan Samaj Party Punjab General Secretary Bhagwan Singh Chauhan while talking to journalists said that when the Congress government was formed under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh, before the elections, Captain Amarinder Singh had kept the Gutka Sahib of the holy Gurbani on his turban in front of Damdama Sahib Gurudwara in Talwandi Sabo and vowed to waive off the loans of poor people of cooperative societies after the formation of the government, but after forming the government and taking oath as the Chief Minister, he reneged on it, which is a sheer betrayal of the poor people and at the same time reneging on the oath of the holy Gutka Sahib is also a great disrespect in itself.
Sharing the information, Chauhan said that poor farmers, labourers and workers had taken loans from cooperative societies for buffalo, cow, goat, pig rearing, arrow-cutting and other small household works, which the then Congress Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had promised to waive before the elections by swearing on Gutka Sahib, but after becoming the Chief Minister, he forgot and the debt of poor labourers has now reached 80-80, 90-90 thousand including interest.
Due to Captain's breach of promise, people are neither getting houses nor food, because the bank people are demanding interest money, otherwise they are threatening to confiscate it. Chauhan said that calls are coming from many people and the people in debt are demanding that they should unite and raise their voice. Chauhan said that those who are torturing poor people will become partners of hell because they are traitors of the Guru because their false promises have made the life of many families hell.
Chauhan said that the current AAP government should rectify the mistake committed by Congress by waiving off the loans of poor farmers and labourers, otherwise the public will treat this party like Congress. Bahujan Samaj Party can also start a struggle on this serious issue.
