Hoshiarpur- The District Red Cross Society celebrated World TB Day today. Deputy Commissioner-cum-President-District Red Cross Society Ashika Jain was the chief guest on this occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner motivated the patients to take good protein-rich diet, take precautions and fight this disease resolutely. He also presented necessary items to the patients. On this occasion, protein-rich ration kits, hygiene kits and mattresses were distributed to 25 TB patients. These patients were sent by TB Hospital, Hoshiarpur.
District Red Cross Society Secretary Mangesh Sood said that State Coordinator (TB Project) Ravia and Gurpreet Kaur from the state branch of Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh specially participated in this program. They gave necessary information about TB disease, its symptoms, treatment and nutrition.
In addition, a special seminar was organized for the students of Red Cross School of Vocational Learning, in which detailed information about TB was given.
He appealed to the people not to discriminate against TB patients and help them as much as possible so that they can get healthy soon.
