Una, June 25- District Magistrate Una Jatin Lal has issued orders to implement necessary precautions and safety measures with immediate effect keeping in mind the danger of possible floods during rainy season. These orders have been issued under Section 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

These orders have been issued under Section 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The Deputy Commissioner has asked all the Sub-Divisional Magistrates to strictly implement the safety measures in their respective jurisdictions. He said that the purpose of these orders is to prevent loss of life and property due to any natural disaster during monsoon and to ensure the safety of the common people.
He said that slums, temporary settlements or other unauthorized structures built in the flood affected areas of Swan river and its tributary rivers and ravines should be identified immediately and the people living there should be shifted to safer places. 
Also, no temporary structures like huts, shanties or temporary shelters should be set up around Swan river and its tributaries, ravines, especially in flood affected areas.
Make public announcements to make people aware in sensitive areas and get the area evacuated immediately. The Deputy Commissioner said that if required, the SDM himself should go to the spot and take stock of the situation so that any kind of loss of life and property can be prevented. 
The Deputy Commissioner has directed to maintain proper coordination with police, home guard, fire brigade, revenue department and quick response teams for effective implementation of the instructions.
He appealed to the people not to go near rivers and drains during the rainy season.
