Chandigarh: 17th March, 2025: National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh today organized a Short Term Programme on LabVIEW Applications in Engineering. This Programme would be conducted from 17th to 21st March, 2025.
The inaugural session was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Prof. Lini Mathew (Coordinator, Professor & Head, NITTTR Chandigarh), Er. Nitesh Pradhan (VVDN Technologies, Gurugram, Haryana), Prof. Arun Kumar Singh (Head, ECE, PEC), Dr. Sukhwinder Singh (Coordinator, PEC), Dr. Jaskirat Kaur (Coordinator, PEC), and Dr. Surendra Gupta (PEC).
Dr. Sukhwinder Singh set the tone for the programme with a warm welcome to participants from across the country. He provided an insightful overview of the curriculum, highlighting core concepts such as data acquisition, SubVI, I/Os, automation, control mechanisms, and precision measurement using LabVIEW. He emphasized the programme’s hands-on approach, ensuring participants gain practical expertise in real-time data acquisition, signal processing, control processing, user interface design, and hardware management.
Prof. Arun Kumar Singh elaborated on LabVIEW’s application in integrating standalone systems for temperature control. Demonstrating its powerful computational tools, he showcased how LabVIEW enables the development of diverse programs, multi-parameter temperature measurement, and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithm implementation. He also highlighted the ECE department’s cutting-edge research capabilities at PEC.
Adding to the technical depth, Prof. Lini Mathew provided a comprehensive overview of LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench), underscoring its significance in modern engineering applications. She detailed the programme’s lecture-cum-practice format, covering crucial topics such as programming fundamentals, event structures, loop control, and advanced automation techniques.
This five-day intensive training programme is being conducted under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director, PEC, in collaboration with leading experts from NITTTR Chandigarh, VVDN Technologies, and PEC. With a strong emphasis on practical implementation, this initiative aims to equip participants with the technical expertise required to harness LabVIEW’s full potential in real-world engineering applications.
