Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh will administer the oath to the newly elected 1924 Panches of the district.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 17, 2024: The newly elected Panches of the district will be administered the oath of office by Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on November 19. During which 1924 Panches of four blocks of the district will take the oath of office at the Open Ground (Saras Mela Ground), Sector 88 (Near Manav Mangal School) in Mohali.

Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that preparations for the district-level oath-taking ceremony are in full swing. In this regard, duties of officers have been assigned under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sonam Chaudhary.
She further said that during the district-level ceremony, a separate block will be made for the Panches of each block to sit. During the ceremony, 1924 Panches of Mohali, Derabassi, Majri and Kharar will be administered the oath of office. He said that the administration is making arrangements for parking, medical teams and other facilities for the smooth conduct of the district-level function.
He said that a meeting in this regard has already been held at the function venue, in which Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Dipankar Garg, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, SDM Derabassi Amit Gupta, District Development and Panchayat Officer Baljinder Singh Grewal, Tehsildar Mohali Arjan Singh Grewal and senior officers of other departments were present.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, a meeting has been held at 1 pm tomorrow to review the preparations so that no one faces any problem during the function.
