Chandigarh, February 26- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that due to the closure of Haryana-Punjab border highway, the BJP government not only wants to destroy the farmers of Punjab but is also trying to ruin the business here.
Raising the issue of loss to Punjab's industry and trade, the party said that this situation has been created by the BJP government at the Center. Talking to reporters at the party office in Chandigarh, party's Bulera Neel Garg and AAP leader Pranab Dhawan said that due to the closure of the border, the traders and businessmen of Punjab are suffering huge financial losses.
He said that this situation has arisen because the farmers of Punjab have been continuously sitting on the border for the last one year, but the BJP government at the Center is not listening to them at all. BJP wants Punjabis to stand against Punjabis so that the movement weakens and ends on its own.
An appeal was made to all the farmer organizations and political parties to find a solution to this issue together and prepare the outline of the movement in such a way that the movement becomes stronger and the traders and businessmen of Punjab do not suffer any loss.
He said that if the industry of Punjab suffers losses, many people will become unemployed and the government's finances will also be deeply affected because the government gets a lot of tax from industries, which is used for the development of the state and public welfare.
Appealing to the central government to resolve the demands of the farmers soon, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to withdraw the farming laws, so he should keep his promise.
