Campaign for prevention of non-communicable diseases underway in Patiala district

Patiala, February 25- To provide good and quality health facilities to the people, Health Department Patiala is running a screening campaign for non-communicable diseases till March 31 in the entire district under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Jagpal Inder Singh. The district's screening drive was started from Hasanpur Dispensary.

The district's screening drive was started from Hasanpur Dispensary.
Giving information on this occasion, Dr. Jagpal Inder Singh said that under this campaign, ASHA workers are going door-to-door to high-risk individuals and getting community-based survey forms filled so that they can be identified. The main goal of the Health Department is to identify diabetes, blood pressure, heart disease and other non-communicable diseases of people above 30 years of age and provide timely treatment to the people. Breast screening, cervical and oral cancer screening is also being done during this campaign.
On this occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Patiala Dr. Balkar Singh said that to control blood pressure in daily life, we should minimize the use of sugar and salt, people above the age of 30 should get their blood tested twice a year and should go to government health centers and hospitals to get their blood pressure checked. DPM Ritika Grover, DMEO Monika and hospital staff were present on this occasion.
