20 February Nawanshahr- Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society started the serial pilgrimage to Kartarpur Sahib (Pakistan) about three years ago and at that time probably did not think that this pilgrimage will get so much love and such a great response from the Sangats of the entire region.
Seeing the enthusiasm shown by the Sangats for this pilgrimage, the process of sending Jathas is continuing and so far 54 Jathas have gone for this pilgrimage. Sangats not only from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar but also from Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Ropar, Patiala, Jalandhar and Kapurthala districts join these Jathas and go to visit Kartarpur Sahib.
On an average, 40-50 to 250 members have made the journey in each Jatha and this service is continuing continuously. Keeping in mind the convenience of the groups, appropriate arrangements have been made from time to time as per the suggestions received from the Sangat to make these journeys smooth and easy. This is the reason why the enthusiasm of the Sangat has been increasing continuously for the last three years. Apart from going with the groups, the Sangat is also visiting this holy place by their own vehicles by getting the documentation done through the society.
Due to good weather in the months of February and March and completion of the exams of school children, the inclination towards this journey is increasing a lot and apart from today's group, the booking of the groups of 5 March and 23 March has also been closed. Apart from these groups, the flow of people going by private vehicles is also continuing.
Today on 21 February, the second and 55th group of this month under the leadership of Surjit Singh Mehatpuri and Mahinder Pal Singh Jalwaha will pay obeisance at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Sahib (Pakistan), in which 55 members will participate. Sharing this information, Chief Sevadar Surjit Singh said that this group will leave from the society office at 4 am. Apart from Nawanshahr, devotees from Rahon, Musapur Basiyala, Bains, Kataria, Jalwaha, Mehatpur Uladni, Kalam, Moranwali and Phagwara city will be included in it. He further said that after visiting Baba Bakala Sahib, this group will reach Kartarpur Sahib via Dera Baba Nanak Corridor. On this occasion, Jagdeep Singh, Inderjit Singh Bahra, Jagjit Singh, Parminder Singh Kanwal, Palwinder Singh Karyam, Hardeep Singh Garhpadhana, Kuljit Singh Khalsa, Joginder Singh Mahalon and Mohammad Sahil were also present with him.
