
Awareness program organized at School of Eminence Purhiran on Safe Internet Day
Hoshiarpur- National Informatics Center (NIC) organized an awareness program at School of Eminence, Government Senior Secondary School Purhiran on Safe Internet Day. The aim of this program was to make the students aware about the safe and responsible use of the Internet.

On this occasion, District Rollout Manager Jaspreet Singh and Network Engineer Rajandeep Singh Sohal gave detailed information to the students about the importance of cyber security, cyber hygiene and safe internet usage methods. District Education Officer (S) Lalita Arora also marked her presence in the program and motivated the children to be aware in the digital world.
Jaspreet Singh discussed in detail with the students about various aspects of internet security such as use of strong passwords, data privacy, prevention of online fraud and ways to be cautious on digital platforms. He said that the number of internet users in India is increasing rapidly. Especially in tier-1, tier-2 and tier-3 cities and rural areas.
With this digital development, cyber threats have also increased significantly. Therefore, it has become necessary to use the Internet in a safe manner and adopt cyber security measures. He said that the theme of Safe Internet Day this year is - 'Together for a Better Internet', which is celebrated on a large scale on the second Tuesday of February every year.
Under this initiative, a nationwide awareness campaign is being run by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) project. At the end of the program, students were given the opportunity to participate in quiz and interactive sessions related to cyber security.
The main objective of this awareness campaign is to make future digital citizens aware of cyber threats and teach them to use the Internet responsibly. Guidance Counselor Rakesh Phool, Principal Ramandeep Kaur, Vice Principal Preeti Saini, Lecturer Commerce Harjinder Singh, Vocational Teacher Harjinder Singh, Computer Teacher Praveen Kumar and Narinder Kumar were also present on the occasion.
