UT Administration felicitates PGIMER Pediatrician Dr Jitendra Sahu on Republic Day

Dr Jitendra Kumar Sahu, Professor of Pediatric Neurology, PGIMER, Chandigarh has contributed immensely in research, patient care and teaching in pediatric epilepsy and neurological disorders. In recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of medical science, the UT Administration has felicitated Dr Sahu for his commendable services. This honour is a testimony to his passion to advance medical research, provide exceptional patient care and nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals through his teaching.

Recently, he has been awarded the prestigious “National Science Award: Vigyan Yuva-Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar” for the year 2024 in Medicine by President Smt. Draupadi Murmu. The award will be given at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 2024. It is the highest national award in science, by the Government of India, which honours young scientists who have made exceptional contributions in science and technology. He has previously been awarded the John Stobo Pritchard Prize 2024 and the Sheila Wallace Prize 2016 by the International Child Neurology Association;
Bruce S Schoenberg International Neuroepidemiology Prize 2023 by the American Academy of Neurology, Bernard D'Souza Prize 2019 by the Child Neurology Society, USA, 'Ihsan Dogramaci Research Award 2017-18' by the International Pediatric Association Foundation; Association of Child Neurology-All President's Award 2022; Dr. Ashok Panagariya Memorial Young Scientist Award 2022 by the Indian Academy of Neurology and Dr. HB Dingley Memorial Award 2014 by the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi.
