
Saving someone's life by donating blood is the highest religion towards humanity - Dr. Swati
Hoshiarpur - According to the guidelines of Health Department Punjab and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, under the able leadership of Senior Medical Officer In-charge Civil Hospital Dr. Swati, Voluntary Blood Donation Day was celebrated at District Hospital today. Blood Transfusion Officer Dr Gurica, Lab Technician Harjit Singh, Lab Technician Sandeep Singh, Mrs. Harjit Devi, Kamalpreet Kaur and Karan were present on this occasion.

Today, 15 units of blood donated by blood donors were collected in the blood donation camp. On this occasion, Dr. Swati thanked the blood donors and said that Voluntary Blood Donation Day is celebrated on October 1. The purpose of which is to motivate blood donors to donate blood voluntarily and regularly. Explaining the importance of blood donation, he said that blood donation is a great donation. Blood is required for emergency surgeries, blood diseases like thalassemia, blood cancer and road accident victims and trauma cases.
He said that many precious lives can be saved with timely availability of blood. Saving one's life is the highest religion of man towards humanity. Anyone in the world can need blood at any time. Blood donation, being a unique donation in itself, conveys a message of solidarity. A single drop of blood is so precious that it can give life to any dying person. Sharing more information, he said that by donating blood, not only one patient but 3 patients benefit Because the four components of blood are plasma, RBCs are useful as platelets and as clotting factors in hemophilia patients.
He said that donating blood does not cause any kind of weakness in the body but the mind gets a satisfaction that we have provided life to a needy person by donating blood. Any person can donate blood from the age of 17 years to the age of 66 years. He thanked the blood donors and said that we hope that in the future too you will continue to give your support in the same way for the service of humanity so that precious lives can be saved in time.
